It’s hard to believe that we’re once again back on Gibbs Road, just days away from the start of another unforgettable summer at Camp Avoda.

As opening day approaches, there’s a lot happening around camp, and even more emotions. There’s the excitement of welcoming campers home on Sunday and the anticipation of seeing familiar faces return while meeting new campers and families for the very first time. After months of planning and weeks of preparation, we’re eager to finally share everything we’ve been working on.

This summer brings exciting additions, including new programs, improvements around camp, and renovations that we’re thrilled for campers and families to experience. Every year brings something special, and we can’t wait to see the joy these new opportunities will bring.

Of course, the final days of pre-camp are always busy. There are last-minute phone calls, bunk adjustments, shining and polishing, caring for the fields, unpacking equipment, and checking off countless details. It can be exhausting, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. In the best way possible, it almost feels like we never left.

One thing that stands out every summer is the dedication of the people who make Camp Avoda what it is. From our bunk counselors and maintenance team to our kitchen staff and year-round leaders, everyone has been working tirelessly to ensure camp is ready. Their commitment and teamwork make us incredibly proud.

We’re also deeply grateful for our Board of Directors and generous donors. Their support makes so much possible and helps ensure that each summer continues to create lifelong memories and meaningful experiences for our campers.

Perhaps one of the most rewarding parts of pre-camp has been seeing the growth in so many of our returning counselors. Just like our campers, a year makes a remarkable difference. Watching young leaders mature, strengthen their skills, and deepen their relationships is one of the greatest joys of camp life.

Now, after all the preparation and anticipation, we’re ready.
