Food & Safety

Our campers come from all across the country. Ranging in age from 7 to 15, our campers have a lot in common and yet are very diverse in terms of skills, personality, and needs. Our staff are trained to recognize and respond to challenging behaviors and feelings. Safety is our foremost concern – we want every camper to feel safe, mentally and physically, and to know that our staff is there to help them day or night.

Camp Avoda strictly observes the health and safety standards of the American Camp Association and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Health care is supervised by our two registered nurses who reside in our well-equipped infirmary. Staff members are trained and certified in CPR and basic emergency first aid.

Our Chef, Scott Rubeck, provides the Avoda family with nutritional and consistently, great food. Don’t miss our great weekly outdoor barbeques (You don’t want to miss our corn-on-the-cob and freshly baked brownies!). All of our meals are kosher, and we can accommodate all campers’ dietary needs including food allergies.

In addition to our chef prepared meals, we always have fresh fruit, a salad bar, fresh baked goods and other camper favorites! Every afternoon and evening, we also have Snack Time where campers and counselors take a break from the day’s activities and enjoy a quick bite to eat.
