The sense of community/connection and spirit that exists at Avoda is enhanced by the use of facilities such as the ropes course.  Teamwork and cooperation are important ingredients of group problem solving.  The ropes course challenges campers physically and mentally while enhancing their self-confidence, self-esteem, and ability to work with others.  Safety remains our top priority, and instructors are certified with specialized annual training.

Our most recent addition is a 50-foot-high climbing tower with multiple climbing sides to allow several climbing teams to climb simultaneously.  Climbing towers have become one of the more popular additions to adventure programs, and they provide the campers with different opportunities for their climbing experience.  They have many different uses—team challenge, individual challenge, building climbing skills, and recreation.  Climbing the tower mirrors the rock-climbing experience-with instruction and safety provided by a trained group of staff.

“The reason I love camp so much is because there is always something to do, there are so many fun activities, a lot of my friends are there, and because of the great staff.”  ―Rich, camper 2008
