Avoda Facilities
Setting
Located among towering pine trees, Camp Avoda has remained on the same Middleboro, Massachusetts site since our founding in 1927. While the same ball field pioneered then remains the hub of camp activity today-surrounded by bunks and extending to the waterfront with activity buildings near by-we have a total of more than 55 acres of wooded property. The intimate feeling of our camp is nestled by wooded land with areas used for overnight camp outs, a challenge ropes course, and other adventure activities.
Waterfront
The camp’s private quarter-mile of frontage on beautiful Lake Tispaquin affords campers a wide array of waterfront activities. One of the most active areas of camp, our waterfront is operated in accordance with American Red Cross standards. Swimming instruction is a staple of our waterfront offering, which includes sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing, canoeing, kayaking, rowing, and fishing. Campers must pass the required Red Cross swim levels in order to participate in certain swimming and boating activities.

Bunks and Cabins
Campers live in fully screened cabins that generally house eight to 10 campers, plus two staff members and a CIT. Two bunks make up a cabin where the bunks share bathrooms and hallways. All cabins have built-in closets, small chests of drawers, and modern bathrooms. There are two hot water shower facilities with private stalls. While your son’s bunk will become his home base, he will also meet kids from other bunks and age groups during his other daily activities. One distinguishing aspect of Camp Avoda is our small and intimate number of campers and staff – and campus for that matter. Navigating around our campus is very easy and inviting for young, first year campers.
