It has been action-packed, busy, fun, competitive, emotional, laid-back, sunny, and rainy all at once!

Yesterday was like a Shabbat. We woke up to music instead of Reveille – yesterday was Phish. It was a nice mellow day with some structured activities and some free time. The Juniors and Seniors played their League championships where the Sopranos beat the Ice Road Trcukers in a close volleyball match. Benny Cohen, Dan Chafetz, and Scott Yarmoff led the way for the Sopranos. Robbie Katz, Louis Yarmolinsky, and Zack Kahan were the standouts for the Truckers.

In the afternoon, the boys played some tether-ball, tennis, hoops, hit and robbed bunk-o’s, and soccer. A lot of kids helped dismantle the waterfront. This is always a mixed-emotion activity as it really represents the end of the summer – but the kids get to chip in and participate in yet another team/community activity. They cleaned the boats and helped the waterfront staff a lot.

We had our last Friday night service and dinner and free play.

This AM – Saturday – we had services as well under the lightest of drizzles. Again – it paralleled and maybe even dictated the slightly somber mood as we wind down. The boys will pack up this afternoon, play some final pick-up games, and get ready for tonight.

We have our Banquet where we eat a great dinner, hand out lots of awards, make some speeches, see the Color War video, maybe sing some Color War songs, unveil the Kosher Kabin plaque, hand out yearbooks and more. It’s a special night that puts a nice exclamation point on the summer.
